F1 | Verstappen and Norris will participate in the Bathurst 12 Hour on iRacing
The two Formula 1 drivers trained over the winter on the virtual racing platform
Max Verstappen and Lando Norris kept in training during the winter break using simulators and video games, especially the Englishman uses his Twitch channel a lot to broadcast the virtual races in which he is involved. The two were therefore nominated by Team Redline to participate in the Bathurst 12 Hour which will take place on Saturday on the virtual iRacing platform. Together with the two Formula 1 drivers there will also be among others Rudy van buren, one of the best players in the world of e-sports racing (so much so that he became an official McLaren driver on the simulator, ed.), Shane van gisbergen e Nicky Catsburg.
“We all love virtual racing – Catsburg told Ad Motorsport. This winter we've been very busy in this world, and Redline boss Atze Kerkhof has been at the epicenter of it all. We have trained a lot with the team in recent months and it led to this decision. We will drive a BMW Z4, as if it were real life: Max virtually gets out of the car and I take his place, do a couple of stints and then we will continue the rotation, I can't wait, also because my participation in the 12 hour last weekend's Royal Bathurst race lasted just an hour due to an oil pump problem."
