F1 | Vasseur promises changes for 2024

Another disappointing season, many words and few actions with the Maranello team struggling to fight for the TOP 3 in the constructors' championship. However, the Ferrari team principal, interviewed by "La Gazzetta dello Sport", was optimistic regarding the next seasons. Promises that, however, take time.

“In Maranello we are already working for 2024. We are still at the philosophical concepts regarding the new single-seater. We need to find margins with which the riders can ride without always being at the limit. We still have many months ahead of us before the deadline. We have already hired around 25 people, but we are still looking for more and none of these are already working in Maranello. We have signed an important name who should start working from January 2025, but we are trying to anticipate the times. Let's say this became the main part of my job at Ferrari: creating good relationships and convincing people to move. The first ones you take are the most difficult, then the others, seeing them, follow suit."

Vasseur underlined that it is difficult to hire coaches from other teams due to contracts and the distance from home:

“Level technicians have multi-year contracts, it is complicated to take them away from other teams. And for us there is an aggravating circumstance compared to the British teams: there the teams are close, if you hire someone they can stay in the same home and the children can continue to attend the same schools. If we want an engineer to come here to Italy, first we have to convince him, then his wife and the following week his children."

It was precisely for this reason that Adrian Newey refused to join Ferrari.
