F1 | Triple DRS zone for the British GP

A new DRS zone has been added to the Silverstone track

F1 | Triple DRS zone for the British GP

The International Federation has made official the points where it will be possible to exploit the DRS system in the British Grand Prix, the tenth round of the 2018 Formula One World Championship.

The device, unlike last season, can be used in three points on the track, with the FIA having authorized the inclusion of a further area in order to encourage overtaking. The first two, as expected, will be placed on the Hangar Straight (from turn 14 to turn 15.ndr) and on the Wellington Straight (straight that leads from 6 to 7.ed.).

As regards the third zone, however, the FIA has chosen to activate it on the main straight of the track, but with an absolute peculiarity: the drivers will not be forced to ask for the wing just before the crease of turn 1, but rather immediately before the 3. The Farm can therefore be tackled fully and with the use of the mobile wing. Note that there will be three detection points and they will be placed before turns 11, 18 and 3.

We remind you that in the free practices on Friday the areas of use will be the same as those in the race, obviously without the rule of one second of separation from the car in front. The same goes for qualifications.
