F1 | Toro Rosso, Sainz: “We didn't have a good weekend”

Below expectations for Carlos Sainz and Danill Kvyat on the Spa track on Saturday. Scuderia Toro Rosso failed to qualify for Q3, placing their drivers in fourteenth and seventeenth position. A fairly complex day where the Faeto Scuderia suffered from top speeds on the long straights of the Belgian circuit.

Here are the words of Carlos Sainz: “Finishing in P14 in today's qualifying is a bit disappointing, because we've had a good weekend so far. Since FP1 I have always been in the top ten and I did some very good laps. In today's qualifying it went more or less the same way... we started to think that getting into the top ten was possible here, but when you only find yourself in P14 it's quite frustrating. I think I got the most out of the car today so we just need to keep pushing. We'll see what we can do tomorrow - it's been a good weekend so far, so there's no reason to think we can't progress! We also hope to be able to grab some good points."

Here are Daniil Kvyat's impressions: “I haven't driven for a long time this weekend, so it hasn't been easy: in FP3 this morning we had a problem with the power unit and I have to say that the guys did a great job to replace the engine in time for qualifying! I tried to do the best lap I could, but I wasn't comfortable enough and we only managed to finish in P17… I didn't even have the chance to do a long-run, so it's hard to say what to expect for tomorrow. We also have a penalty to serve on the grid, so we will start from the back of the grid, but we will do our best and see how it ends."
