F1 | Todt: “We want to leave Europe again in early July”

Interviewed by Sky Sports, Jean Todt talked about the possible start of the Formula 1 world championship in July, precisely from the Red Bull Ring circuit, underlining how the FIA and Liberty Media are doing their utmost to organize the first race of the championship.
According to what was declared by the President of the FIA, all parties involved are working day and night to compile the safety protocol, an aspect which should soon lead to an "officialisation" of the programme.
Obviously the last word will be up to governments, given that the Coronavirus emergency will play a key role in the various race weekends.
“At the moment the intention is to leave again in Europe in the first days of July”, said Jean Todt. “But there is no official confirmation yet. We will have to analyze the evolution of the situation, also based on the decisions of governments, which with certain measures could inevitably influence our choices".
“We have to be flexible, given the times we live in,” he continued. “Our desire is to leave as soon as possible. As with other sports, there will certainly be totally new conditions, keeping the safety of all participants as a priority."
