The event promoted by the Municipality and organized this year by Ristogest and Publi(iN) returns

The appointment with "MonzaGP" is renewed, the event of entertainment, recreational, cultural and sporting activities and initiatives promoted by the Municipality of Monza on the occasion of the Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix. From 31 August to 3 September, squares and main streets of the historic center of the city will come alive with events that in previous editions have attracted hundreds of people, from the Dinner Under the Stars in Piazza Carrobiolo to the MonzaGP-Fest in Piazza Cambiaghi up to the various events under the vaults of the Arengario.

The 2017 edition, organized by Ristogest e Publi(iN), will be in the name of green, as can already be understood from the subtitle "Green Place" and from the range of shades of the color chosen to represent the event. The message of MonzaGP – Green Place is summarized in “Slow(E)motion”, an expression which, even in its graphic transcription, recalls a set of suggestions such as emotion, energy, movement, technology and slowness.

The inauguration will officially take place in Piazza Trento e Trieste on August 31st at 17pm, in the presence of the authorities; followed by the performance of the City of Monza Band and a special concert. At the same time, the stands of the Downtown Village in Piazza Trento Trieste and the activities in all the other streets involved will be opened.

«MonzaGP has now become an unmissable moment of celebration for our city – declared the mayor of Monza, Dario Allevi – Our squares come alive and become colorful and everyone, citizens and tourists, experience the days of the Grand Prix walking through the streets of the center and breathing in the air the excitement and emotion of the biggest sporting event of the year in our Village. Furthermore, MonzaGP allows the thousands of fans and enthusiasts who crowd the stands of the Autodrome to take a few hours of leisure from the motorsport event and to get to know our treasures, from the best known ones such as the Duomo and the Villa Reale, to the most hidden and fascinating. It is our showcase to the world, an opportunity that must increasingly become the engine of informed and intelligent tourism and a driving force of the local economy that must make Monza increasingly attractive and lively."

The places and events

The fulcrum of the entire event is the Downtown Village of Piazza Trento and Trieste. It is here that numerous shows for families, various entertainment and entertainment activities, musical and dance performances are scheduled; presentations by sports clubs, but also athletics trials and performances (speed, hurdles and pole vault) in a specially designated area. You can dive into the greenery of the Author's Habitat, children can have fun with the workshops designed for them or with the pedal cars, while speed lovers can feel like real drivers with the exclusive Formula 1 Club.

Under the arcades ofarengario, which for the occasion will be transformed into a conference room, is set up there Agora Space. A busy program of meetings, debates, presentations and round tables is planned: speakers, administrators, specialists, analysts but also representatives of local associations will take turns, who will be given the opportunity to present the new programmes, courses and activities.

Carrobiolo Square, an extraordinary open-air lounge in the historic center of Monza, will be transformed into a singular lunch-room: at lunch the restaurant offer will include a dynamic smart-lunch, while in the evening the square will dress up in gala, hosting the Dinner under the stars: 100 seats at the table between history, design and cuisine now in its 3rd edition.

The most popular place for young people will undoubtedly be theCambiaghi area where one is set up Street Village which, on Friday and Saturday, will offer music, shows, performances and happenings and a gastronomic offer based on the principles of the now renowned and popular street-food philosophy. The program is scheduled for both evenings MonzaGP-Fest, a now consolidated format that includes two shows dedicated to music with deejays, choreographies, light shows and entertainment from the stage, as well as numerous surprises. On the evening of September 2nd there will also be space for the Italian national football team which faces Spain for the qualifiers for the World Cup in Russia: everyone is cheering for the Azzurri in front of the big screen!

MonzaGP will also be an opportunity to participate in some cultural events proposed by the city administration: first of all a "Re-enactment of medieval Monza” which, on the evenings of Thursday 31 August, Friday 1 and Saturday 2 September will cross the city center with its figures in medieval costume; at the Galleria Civica, from 1 to 10 September, you can visit the exhibition “Monza: the city, the park and the racetrack”; from 1 to 10 September, in the Urban Center Binario 7 exhibition hall, the exhibition “Michel Vaillant: the champion on the track for 60 years!”; finally, at the Civic Museums, it will remain open until September 3rd "Moses Bianchi. Return to Monza".

Photographic contest and charity partner

For those who want to be the protagonist of the event, there is also the opportunity to participate in the unique competition organized for the occasion: just take a photo that expresses what makes the Monza sporting event unique and the events that will enliven the city from 31 August to 3 September, send it to monzagreenplace@gmail.com and have your friends vote on it on the official MonzaGP Facebook page. Nice MonzaGP-branded gadgets will be provided for the authors of the 5 photographs that received the most likes.

Finally, it remains to point out who the charity partner of the event will be Cancer First Help, the Monza-based association that works to lend a hand to cancer patients and their families: the proceeds will go to fund raising for the purchase of a linear accelerator for the San Gerardo Hospital in Monza.

The organizers speak

The 2017 edition of the MonzaGP aims to enhance Monza and its territory through the presentation of its environmental, cultural but also social and productive excellence, explained the organizers of the event, Ristogest e Publi(iN) who created a temporary business association for the occasion. «This is how a series of projects were born which, by integrating a scheme suggested by the municipal administration, we are convinced can make the event truly memorable», he recalled Luke Locatelli, administrator of Ristogest.
«Our goal was to create a transversal event, in terms of content and themes, capable of reaching a heterogeneous audience made up of families, children, young and old», he added Michele Belingheri, Corporate manager of Publi(iN), a company of the Netweek Spa group.
«In addition to the environment, with the Habitat d'Autore projects (a sort of homage to the characteristic landscape of Brianza) or Pit Slow (an exhibition in public space that offers a reflection on "gentle mobility") we wanted to bet on sport (involving numerous associations, clubs and teams, all present with competitions, demonstrations and exhibitions) and obviously on culture (with exhibitions, conferences, workshops and the numerous musical and entertainment shows scattered throughout the squares and main streets) without forgetting the fabric productive by creating events, awards and circuits in collaboration with both public and private bodies and associations", he highlighted Lorenzo Gatti, producer of the event.
