F1 | Renault, Ricciardo on the third row at the Nurburgring: "Not the best way to prepare for a weekend"

The Eifel Grand Prix will start from the third row for Daniel Ricciardo. The Renault driver qualified in sixth position at the Nurburgring and will start alongside Alexander Albon. This weekend was special for all the teams, given the impossibility of running yesterday due to bad weather, and it was a taste of what awaits us in Imola in three weeks. However, the Australian believes he can have a good race, and the starting position is certainly encouraging.

“I'm quite satisfied with qualifying, sixth position is good in view of the start – Ricciardo said. Fun Saturday, with a very crowded practice session and then a hectic afternoon. We were all on the track at the same time, so I had fun. It's certainly not the best way to prepare for the weekend, and tomorrow we'll find out the rest of what the car can give. In the race we will be close, but I'm excited, we can aim for the top six positions. We'll see how it goes with the soft tires, as there could be a lot of graining. Both on a dry and wet track it will be an interesting race."
