F1 | Red Bull, Sergio Perez: “I knew we weren't ahead by a second” 

Bahrain - Sergio Perez seems not to be surprised by the performances demonstrated by RB20 on the first day of free practice a Sakhir. The Mexican – as well as his teammate Max Verstappen – remained farther than ever from the top of the standings: only twelfth in the first free practice session, tenth instead at nightfall in FP2. “I think these two sessions were crucial and very interesting: there are still many areas of the car to explore that we weren't able to look at during the tests, so we took advantage of it today to explore the mechanical part of the balance. The good thing is that any changes made for the flying lap seem to have good repercussions on the long runs. We have only one objective: to make the car more balanced, only in this way will we be ready for qualifying and the race. We were expecting this day. I heard a lot of people say that we were ahead by a second in the tests: it made me smile, because I knew the reality. Our opponents seem very competitive, it will be a fiery Friday night."
