F1 | Red Bull, Max Verstappen tough: "Lewis' dangerous maneuver"

Max Verstappen fails to complete even one lap at Silverstone. The Dutchman, who started from pole, managed to hold his position at the start, defending himself from Lewis Hamilton's attack: the fight between the two continued undaunted until Copse, where the seven-time world champion slipped inside, but braked too late. The W12 touches the right rear of the Red Bull, which slides away in the gravel until it hits the barriers heavily. Max Verstappen was forced to retire, and fortunately emerged unscathed from the accident, which had a deceleration force of 51 G. The Dutchman was transported to the medical center for some checks, while Hamilton, who received a ten-second penalty for accident, he still went on to win the British Grand Prix, overtaking Charles Leclerc on the penultimate lap. Now the gap between the two is drastically reduced: only eight points separate them in the title fight.

"Luckily I'm fine – wrote Max on his social channels – I'm very disappointed to have been thrown out like this. The penalty doesn't help us and doesn't do us any justice for Lewis' dangerous maneuver. Seeing the celebrations while I'm still in the hospital isn't respectful, let alone sporting behavior, but let's move on".
