F1 | Red Bull, Horner: “Max kept his concentration and managed the victory”

Christian Horner was the picture of happiness and satisfaction under the spectacular podium in Miami. Framed by the cameras as he crossed the paddock with his wife Geri Halliwell, the team principal seemed pleased with having beaten Mattia Binotto's Ferraris again. Max Verstappen had an excellent starting point, from the clean side of the track, easily overtaking Carlos Sainz, and just a few laps were enough for the world champion to take the lead of the race. The Safety Car revived spirits in the last ten laps, with Leclerc immediately chasing the Red Bull, but Max managed and won easily, without making any mistakes. A PU problem forced Sergio Perez to lower his guard in the first part of the race, and he too, only after the Safety Car and one more stop, attempted to attack the podium, but without success. Red Bull leaves Miami with a victory and a fourth place, with the gaps in the standings becoming increasingly shorter.

"It was a tactical race and we showed off all our weapons, luckily the Ferraris didn't return to the pits with the Safety Car. Max was really under pressure with Charles Leclerc, but he kept his concentration without making any mistakes and slowly managed to take away the possibility of using the DRS, which was really powerful today, and we managed to manage the victory – explained team principal Christian Horner – Checo was very unlucky today, he had a problem with a sensor at the start of the race, which caused him to lose at least 30 horsepower, and we only gave him the green light after the pit stop, when he had the advantage of the compound new and without that problem it could have finished in second place. Interesting races await us, the car is very strong and there will be some updates during the summer, we definitely need to lighten it, but we are satisfied with how this weekend went".
