F1 | Red Bull, Horner: “Constructors' title dedicated to Mateschitz”
“Incredible year, we broke all our records,” reported the team principal from Milton Keynes
Red Bull triumphantly closed a season that saw it as a protagonist in both the drivers' and constructors' world championships, managing to bring home both world championship crowns. Present in Bologna, where the FIA Gala was held, the Milton Keynes team principal Chris Horner wanted to dedicate the brands cup to the historic founder of the Red Bull brand, Dietrich Mateschitz, who passed away last November.
A title that allowed the Anglo-Austrian team to interrupt the hegemony of Mercedes, which had lasted since 2014, thus returning to put its name in the roll of honor that had been missing since 2013.
“For eight years there was only one manufacturer who won this trophy – declared Horner – It was the most incredible year for the team. We broke all our records. I want to dedicate this to Dietrich Mateschitz."
