F1 | Ralf Schumacher defends Ferrari: “The problem is the drivers”

Ferrari – In Miami, the Maranello team was the protagonist of ayet another race to forget. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz faced each other at the end of the race and both complained about the lack of pace.

“I spoke to Carlos after the race and we agreed that the car is very inconsistent and that it is practically impossible to push it to the limit. In one corner there is understeer and in the next corner there is oversteer. It's strange and we have to check,” commented the Monegasque.

The Spaniard agrees with his teammate: “This car doesn't allow you to attack, especially in the race. You do everything, you do one really good lap, and the next one is three tenths slower."

Taking the defense of the Maranello team is former driver Ralf Schumacher, according to whom the real problem is the drivers and not the car.

“The car isn't exceptional - he declared to Sport1 - but it's better than they say. One driver (referring to Sainz, ed.) makes a mistake when entering the pits, while the other (referring to Leclerc, ed.) barely finishes a fast lap without having an accident. Frank Williams would have pulled my ears, the trend is not good."

The German exonerates team principal Frederic Vasseur:

Schumacher also thinks the problem is not the work of Ferrari's new team boss, Frederic Vasseur.

“A lot has already happened since he took office, the biggest problem is the drivers, they are not consistent enough.
With his mistakes, Leclerc shows that he either doesn't have the maturity or perhaps that he isn't good enough to win a world championship with Ferrari. And Sainz was eight tenths behind Leclerc on one weekend. To be honest, the Ferrari team is currently doing a better job than the drivers."
