F1 | Raikkonen: “Luck smiled on the team today”

Podium also for Kimi Raikkonen in Melbourne, who finished in third place behind his teammate and Lewis Hamilton. Starting from the front row, the Finn managed to keep himself firmly behind the Mercedes leader, only to then slip to third place when Vettel, thanks to strategy and the intervention of the safety, took over the top spot. No regrets for Kimi, however, aware that luck chose Vettel today, but still rewarded the whole team. Here are the first impressions of him at the end of the race.

“No I never doubted my strategy. I simply didn't know what was happening on the track, but I was very clear about what I was doing. Sometimes you have luck, sometimes less, and in this case luck smiled on our team. We put two cars on the podium: even if it wasn't the best result for me, we had a good weekend."

“I think it wasn't bad overall; I'm quite satisfied although there are certainly things to improve. There were better conditions than yesterday morning and this allowed us to go faster, but this is a very particular circuit in many ways too. Now we will go to a more normal one, with warmer conditions, and see what we can do there. The result certainly could have been better but in any case, if the sensations remain the same, I think we will have the tools to fight for more important results."
