F1 | Racing Point, Perez in the points despite the accident on the last lap

With a daring finish, Racing Point managed to gain two points thanks to Sergio Perez's ninth position. The Mexican, who ended up in the barriers at the start of the last lap, took advantage of the early waving of the checkered flag, thus finishing the race before the accident which involved him with Gasly. Stroll, however, finished outside the top ten after spending most of the race ahead of his teammate.

“Our race pace was better than in qualifying, I felt more confidence in the car – Perez said. I got off to a good start and the team did a fantastic job with the strategy. In the second half of the race we used the Soft tires and got into the points. In the end, the checkered flag was waved first, so the accident with Gasly happened after the race was over: I left him space and was in front of him, there was no need to get caught. It's disappointing to end the race with a damaged car, but at least we scored in the points."

“In the first stint we were constantly in the top ten, but we noticed the main problem with the tires towards the end – Stroll said. For most of the race I was behind Gasly, which wasn't good for the front tyres, but it was in the last ten laps that we lacked the grip to maintain eighth position. We wanted the one-stop strategy, it was the most advantageous, we saw it with Checo. It didn't go the right way, we will analyze everything to understand where we can improve."
