F1 | Press conference Austin, Hamilton: “Title? I just want to win this race."

Lewis Hamilton enters the United States Grand Prix, the seventeenth round of the 2017 Formula One World Championship, with a 59-point lead in the championship standings over rival Sebastian Vettel. In Austin, if he were to score 16 points more than the German from Ferrari, the Englishman from Stella could even become world champion with three to spare.

Despite an important advantage, Hamilton does not intend to change his attitude: “True, I have a big margin – he underlined in the press conference – but my approach is always the same. Nothing has changed. Sebastian will be very strong here, he will have the opportunity to win. I'm not interested in being able to win the title here, I'm only interested in winning this race also because of what's happening in this country".

Since the beginning of the second half of the championship, Hamilton has been the driver who has achieved the highest number of victories: four in the five events held so far. The English driver himself explained the reasons for his excellent performances: “Confidence and understanding of the machine have increased compared to the past. I was able to understand the strengths and weaknesses. Thanks to the help of the team, we have managed to constantly update the car. Then there were some positive aspects in my life that gave me that extra push".

He did not skimp on important words towards Vettel: “Credo – added Hamilton – that he has been a strong opponent throughout the season. Ferrari continues to be fast, despite the latest problems. I expect them to be very strong here and in the next races".
