F1 | The 2021 calendar is official: Vietnam out, back to the pre-Covid19 draft
Holland moved to September, Monza the only stop in Italy
Through an official note published on its official website, Formula 1 has revealed the first draft calendar for next year, effectively confirming the many rumors that have circulated over the last few weeks. Compared to the emergency season launched in a hurry due to the Coronavirus emergency, the 2021 draft was born on the structure used for the "pre-Covid" calendar, with 23 races spread around the globe. We will start on March 21st in Australia, precisely at Albert Park, and will continue with away games in Bahrain (26-28 March) and China (9-11 April).
A huge question mark instead for the fourth stage of the championship, initially scheduled for Vietnam. As anticipated this morning, Hanoi will not host the Grand Prix in 2021 due to problems related to the pandemic, which has effectively left a slot free for 23-25 April. An important opportunity for circuits like Imola or Portimao, eager to repeat themselves after this year's excellent experience. It should be noted that Mugello is not present in the list of candidates, whose 2020 Grand Prix will remain an exception.
The European calendar will then follow, with the usual stops in Spain, Monaco, France, Austria, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Belgium, Holland and Italy which will be broken up by trips to Azerbaijan and Canada. Grand finale in Asia (Russia, Singapore and Japan), America (United States, Mexico and Brazil) and the Middle East (Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi).
