Starting from 2026 the formula 1 will be involved in yet another regulatory change in its history which in this case will concern the power units. There will also be one of the motorists involved in this new front Honda which, once the experience with Red Bull ends in 2025, will work alongside Aston Martin. Waiting to celebrate this wedding on the track, the president of HRC Koji watanabe reported that the Japanese company wants to be more involved in Formula 1, above all to increase the economic influence of the motor manufacturers.

“We have a contract with a team (Aston Martin, ed.) – Watanabe declared to as-web.jp – I can't speak in detail. But those who supply engines have expenses for development and production, but have no income from Formula 1 due to the Concordat."

Watanabe, continuing the discussion, added: “At the start of our next project, we will review the contract in that area, increase opportunities for us to speak and consult with the team to create an environment that makes it easier for Honda to continue in F1. In the future we should aim for self-sustaining profitability, and this can be considered the first step."
