F1 | Mercedes, Bottas on pole at the Nurburgring: "I have only one goal"

Valtteri Bottas took the fourteenth pole position of his career. The Mercedes driver has beaten Lewis Hamilton, ahead of him all day, and will now look for confirmation in tomorrow's race, in what could be the second consecutive victory after the success in Sochi. At the Nurburgring, Mercedes did not seem to be the absolute dominator as in the other weekends of this dominant 2020, but it still has something more than Red Bull, its main opponent.

“Great to be on pole here, it was a good session – Bottas said. It's a great feeling to get it on the last attempt in Q3, it was a perfect lap! I struggled a bit in the first sector, but I made it. Obviously it was complicated, having only one free practice session available, and the cold weather conditions didn't help us. Getting the tires up to temperature on the launch lap was important. Tomorrow is another day, it will be an interesting race, especially with the lack of long runs and the low temperatures. I only have one goal for tomorrow, so I hope to get off to a good start."
