F1 | McLaren, Ricciardo sets the goal: “I have to reach fourth place in the Sprint Race”

Daniel Ricciardo took seventh position in Friday qualifying for the British Grand Prix. For this reason, the Australian McLaren driver will start from the fourth row in the Sprint Race, the mini race that will decide the starting grid for Sunday's race. An undoubtedly positive result for the former Red Bull, who is slowly finding confidence with the MCL35M, and even sets the goal: to finish in fourth position to start from the second row!

“Overall it was a very positive day – said a beaming Ricciardo. I was fast throughout qualifying and I felt comfortable in the car, that's the really important thing. However, I can't help but feel sorry for missing out on fourth place, it was so close, but it's still an improvement on the last few weeks. In hindsight it's always easy to see where I went wrong, there was the potential to gain a tenth. Now let's focus on the Sprint Qualifying, we'll see what happens: we'll make a good start, we'll recover positions and we'll climb to fourth place, where we should have been. This is our plan!”.
