F1 | Mark Blundell: “Bottas lacked the right aggression to attack Vettel”
The former F1 driver: "In his place Hamilton would have attempted a more decisive attack"
Mark Blundell, former Formula 1 driver and winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1992, commented on the final stages of the Bahrain GP, which saw Sebastian Vettel take home the victory, resisting the return of Valtteri Bottas despite the tires at their limit compared to the fresher ones of the Mercedes driver.
The German's skill or the Finn's lack of decision? For the former British driver, now a television commentator, Bottas should have done more: “He had the car close to Vettel, the tires close to Ferrari and with better performance. Bottas saw the opportunity to attack, but I don't think he exploited it. I consider him to be a fantastic driver, but he lacks a bit of aggression and fight”.
That aggression that teammate Lewis Hamilton certainly doesn't lack: "If Hamilton had been there, he would have at least attempted a more aggressive attack."
