F1 | Lowe: “Stroll's ninth place is like a victory”

The technical director of Williams, defined the young Canadian's race as "a victory", since he finally managed to finish in the points.

Stroll he had yet to finish in the top ten this season and his problems appeared to continue on Saturday, when he was eliminated from Q1. However, his home race gave him the right motivation to shed the label of "paying driver".

With ninth place, the Canadian is the second youngest driver to have finished a points race in Formula 1, a result of which Lowe he is proud:

“He is the first Canadian in Formula 1 since Jacques Villeneuve and he scored his first points in his home race, it's a great story. Considering the many difficulties Lance has faced since the start of the season, this result is like a victory for us. He drove really well, made some good overtaking and deserves these points. I think this result will give him all the confidence to move forward.".
