F1 | Jean Alesi: “Mercedes is still ahead of everyone”

We start again on July 5th, the Austrian Grand Prix will be the first post-pandemic, and for the teams it will be an opportunity to see how far they have reached after the tests in Barcelona. Mercedes seemed to be ahead of everyone once again, threatened by a Red Bull in great form. We certainly can't say the same about Ferrari, which seemed a notch below the reigning world champion team. According to Jean Alesi, we will not see any upheavals in Zeltweg, given that the factories remained closed for several weeks during the pandemic.

“The teams haven't been able to develop much – Alesi told Autosprint. Maybe we will see some small changes in the hierarchies, but I think Mercedes' advantage is still the same. Leclerc's virtual races? He is having fun: he is young and he shows it like this, but he also does it to bring joy in a very sad situation. I appreciate him much more than the riders who don't show up. I think some people forget the role they play in entertaining the fans."
