F1 | Hulkenberg: “I prefer not to think about negotiations with Red Bull”

In a chat given to the microphones of Ziggo Sport, Nico Hulkenberg returned to talk about the negotiations carried out with Red Bull during the last season, underlining how Sergio Perez's growth in Racing Point pushed the management of the Austrian team to bet on Mexican experience.

Despite this, the former Renault driver does not harbor any grudge towards his "rival", given that the current Red Bull driver earned Alexander Albon's former seat with good results, including a splendid victory in the Grand Prix Sakhir Award. As regards the present, however, "Hulk" said he was ready to help Aston Martin in terms of development, specifying how the activity with the English team will almost certainly be superior to the one he will carry out with Mercedes.

“Better not to look at Red Bull's performances, otherwise I'll feel like crying!”, the German joked. “Jokes aside, I don't think about it. I negotiated with them for the whole second half of last season, but then Checo started to do really well and with that victory in Bahrain my dream completely disappeared."

“Now I'm Aston Martin's test driver, while the workload for Mercedes is less,” he continued. “Stoffel Vandoorne and Nyck de Vries drive in Formula E and it will rarely happen that they will not be available on a race weekend. If anything happens on those weekends, I'll be ready to make myself useful."
