F1 | Haas, Steiner: “I don't know this year's budget yet”

The weekend of Zeltweg it certainly wasn't great for the Haas, given the double withdrawal of Grosejan e Magnussen due to problems with the braking system of both VF-20s. It's a chronic problem for the US team, which over the years it has never been able to fully resolve. Leaving this aside, Guenther Steiner, Haas team principal confirmed to the newspaper Extra Blade who will wait for the updates, given that he is not yet aware of either the car's strengths or the available budget, a rather bizarre situation, to say the least.

“I still don't know this year's budget, and until I know, I won't make any decisions – Steiner said. I think we were too aggressive with the brake cooling: they have a dynamic influence on the car, so you try to lower the temperatures as little as possible. We need to make the most of what we have instead of focusing on upgrades, as we still haven't figured out our strengths. So we'll continue like this until we know which way the season is going to go. To say that the car ran well on Sunday is a bit of an exaggeration, but it wasn't that bad."
