F1 | Dutch GP, Lammers: “The race will take place regardless of the number of fans in the stands”

The organizational machinery for the next Dutch Grand Prix, the 13th round of the 2021 Formula 1 World Championship, continues without interruption.

Despite the new anti-Covid19 regulations passed by the country and the capacity of the stands reduced to 60%, the organizers of the race in Zandvoort do not intend to give up on the project launched two and a half years ago, specifying how the event in the Netherlands will take place regardless by the number of enthusiasts who will be able to follow the race inside the Oranje circuit.

According to what was declared by Jan Lammers, chief organizer of the race, the investors have chosen to bet on the future of F1 in the Netherlands, an aspect which will obviously lead all parties involved not to hold back on the creation and holding of this world event year.

“The organization of a Grand Prix is a complex puzzle”, said the former Formula 1 driver. “Eventually not many fans will be allowed to attend the event. This is an unfortunate and above all annoying epilogue, but we have no other choice, unfortunately. At the moment the glass is two/thirds full and the Grand Prix will take place regardless of the number of fans who manage to enter the Autodrome. We will just do it, also because we have chosen to invest in the future of Formula 1 in the Netherlands."
