F1 | GdS: new Ferrari power unit ready for Istanbul or Austin

Ferrari is apparently completing the development of the second specific power unit which should give Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc "new" cavalry to fight on par with the McLarens in this final part of the season.

According to what was reported by Gazzetta dello Sport in today's edition, Mattia Binotto's staff would have planned the debut of the new unit for the month of October at the latest, precisely between Turkey (main option) and the United States, two circuits " favorable” in terms of overtaking.

The introduction of the new unit will force Charles Leclerc to start from the back (after the accident in Hungary the team had to "unfreeze" the third power train), an aspect which will obviously play a key role in choosing the appointment in which to carry out the fourth seasonal change.

“Ferrari is eager to have the new specification,” we read on the Rosea. “The introduction of the new unit will force Leclerc to start from the back of the grid, which is why careful analyzes are underway on the GP where to make this change”.

“There will be a price to pay and it will be important to do it in the least onerous way possible,” we continue. “The change, according to the program established by the team, should take place in October, presumably during the Turkish GP. At the latest in Austin, given that, as explained by Binotto, its introduction will facilitate solutions for Ferrari next year."
