F1 | Franz Tost bids farewell to AlphaTauri

Franz tost say goodbye definitively formula 1 after eighteen years of history withAlpha Tauri. To the century Toro Red, with him the team gave birth to riders like Sebastian Vettel, Max Verstappen, Daniel Ricciardo, Carlos Sainz, Pierre Gasly, Yuki tsunoda, Daniil Kvyat, sebastian buemi, Jean-Eric Vergne, and many others. With him the Faenza team achieved a pole position, two victories plus three podiums. His last, difficult, season unfortunately ended with eighth place in the standings; in the competition Abu Dhabi Ricciardo is eleventh, while Tsunoda entertains and takes eighth position and the title Driver of the day.

“We started with Yuki in sixth place and with Daniel in fifteenth. Both started well and did not lose positions on the first lap. We diversified the strategy with our cars, opting for just one stop with Yuki and two for Daniel. In the end, it was a wrong decision, because I believe that with a two-stop strategy we could have finished in P6 or at least P7 with Yuki, as he was faster than other competitors who overtook him in the last laps – declared Tost, hard at work until the end – we ended the season in eighth place in the Constructors' Championship and, of course, it's disappointing because our target was P7. However, there are some positive things to consider from an aerodynamic point of view, because the new surface worked quite well and gives us a good indication for next year's car."

The team principal bids farewell to the team after eighteen years to make way for Laurent Mekies, former sporting director of Ferrari.

“As this was my last race, I want to take this opportunity to thank all the Formula 1 fans for their support, the FIA, FOM, all the Formula 1 teams, the Honda, Pirelli and all those with whom we have had the opportunity to collaborate over these 18 years – continued the team principal – and, obviously, I thank my team and all the drivers with whom I have had the fortune of working. I wish them all a successful future."
