F1 | Ferrari, Raikkonen motivated: “Austin? Without a doubt we want to do well in the last races of the season"

We bring you the statements made by Kimi Raikkonen to the official Ferrari media in view of the next United States Grand Prix, the eighteenth round of this 2018 Formula 1 world championship.

The Finn, when asked about the conditions that the drivers will find at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, underlined how the rain could play a key role in the balance of this weekend, especially with regards to qualifying.

The Red team, however, aims to make up for an extremely negative period in terms of results, which is why the Finn will try to make a clear change to his performances, reversing the course in a world championship which, unfortunately, now seems headed towards Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton.

Here are the words of Kimi Raikkonen: “I like Austin, it's a nice place. In the various editions the weather conditions were different; last year it was good weather, whereas previously it had rained. The weather will certainly play an important role over the weekend and today it feels like the middle of winter."

“In general we weren't very strong in the wet, but recently we've been better; in Hungary for example we were quite happy", continued the Finn. “Obviously everything depends on many factors, on the asphalt, on the conditions and on whether we can make the tires work well or not”.

“Without a doubt we want to do well in the last races of the season. We care very much. Lately our performance hasn't been what we wanted and it hasn't been easy for us. But I'm sure we can go back to the way we were before and do something good. The speed should be there; we will try to put everything in the right place and have a good qualifying"he concluded.
