F1 | Ferrari, Binotto: "We knew that there were no conditions to have one of our best races"

La Ferrari takes leave of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the twenty-first and final Formula One event of the season, obtaining the lowest step of the podium with Charles Leclerc and fifth place with Sebastian Vettel.

A difficult championship is thus over for the Cavallino team, despite the second place obtained in the Constructors' World Championship.

Mattia binotto, analyzing the race held on the Yas Marina track, said: “Today we knew that there weren't the conditions to have one of our best races. We had to try something different to achieve a difficult third place in the Drivers' Championship with Charles. His performance today reflects the potential of our car in this race and seeing him on the podium was important: he drove a good race, crowning a good season".

On Vettel's GP: “Sebastian, for his part, was penalized in the first part of the race by not being able to use DRS, when the soft tires should have benefited him – admitted the Red team principal -. Subsequently he was the author of a linear race which allowed him to bring home a placing in the points".

On next season: “Now we have a winter of intense work ahead of us, in which we remain focused on priorities and work united and well – underlined Binotto -. The final thought of this long season is for our fans who we want to thank once again for always supporting us in good times and bad. They deserve so much and we can't wait to repay them".
