F1 | Button: “The development will lead Formula 1 to be increasingly electric”

For Jenson Button, the technological development of the last two years will bring the formula 1 to become increasingly electric. In an interview granted to with the BBC, the current consultant of Williams and 2009 world champion spoke about the technical regulations that will come into force in 2025, highlighting how the transfer of technology from motorsport to automotive will lead to units being increasingly electric and sustainable for the environment.

“In ten years it will be impossible to buy petrol road cars,” said Jenson Button. “They will be obsolete and then run in formula 1 with an internal combustion engine it will be completely useless. I am of the opinion that the future will be increasingly electric. And not just in Formula 1, but also in any form of motor sport.".
