F1 | Brundle: “Claire Williams should have a more presidential role”

The British team has come back from two disappointing seasons and according to Formula 1 commentator Martin Brundle, Claire Williams made a mistake in wanting to continue to maintain control.

According to him, Williams should have taken McLaren as an example who hired Andreas Seidl to manage the team:

“I'm not in charge, and you can't know exactly the things you don't know about, but I would tell Claire to move to the top, to occupy a more presidential role and I would take someone like Andreas Seild to whom I would give full autonomy. . Success in Formula 1 depends on the future, not the past.".

These are certainly not two negative seasons that erase all the good the British team has done in its 50 years in Formula 1. As commendable as Claire Williams' commitment is in carrying forward her father's team, perhaps it is time to think with the head rather than with the heart because unfortunately the numbers speak clearly.
