F1 | Brawn does not close the possibility of a Russian team in Formula 1: "All the requirements are there"

Interviewed by the Tass news agency, Ross Brown did not deny a possible entry of a Russian team into Formula 1, underlining how the strong presence of sponsors and drivers with the Russian flag guarantees Liberty Media all the requirements for a transition of this type.

SMP Bank, we remember, is reportedly discussing with Liberty Media for the entry of its own team in 2021, so as to guarantee an outlet for all the drivers present within its academy (SMP Racing.ed.). An ambitious project, sponsored by Boris Rotenberg, which could be structured over the next few months.

“In Formula 1 there is a strong presence of Russian drivers, businessmen and entrepreneurs,” Ross Brown said. “There is also a race on the calendar, so we can say that all the pre-requisites exist for the creation and commitment of a Russian team in F1.”
