F1 Test Barcelona 2017, Day 6: In the morning the Mercedes is in front

It's up to Mercedes dictate the pace on the second day on the track a Barcelona, on the occasion of Test2 scheduled for Montmelo. News – The asphalt temperature at Montmelò was thirteen degrees when the second day of Test 2 began. The first to leave the pits was Fernando Alonso, followed shortly after by Bottas, Verstappen and Wehrlein. Mercedes stops the clock first: with the ultrasoft tire at 1:22.474 and then at 1:21.229. Verstappen's Red Bull immediately placed behind him, in 1:26.024 on the soft compound. Little by little all the single-seaters leave their respective garages. Only Toro Rosso will take an hour to reveal itself. Raikkonen's first outing sees him using soft tires and large raked wings attached to the rear. Verstappen drops to 1.22.172. Alonso takes third place with the ultrasofts in 1:35.717. Having switched to the soft tyre, Bottas returns to the track, while Massa takes third position in 1:23.135. Behind him, on medium, comes Hulkenberg's Renault. Same compound and fourth time for Raikkonen, in 1:23.622. Sainz placed sixth, in 1:25.231 on soft tyre. An hour from the start Bottas leads the group ahead of Verstappen, Massa, Raikkonen, Hulkenberg, Perez and Alonso.

Bottas mounts the Pirelli back up mediums and returns to the track after a short break. Wehrlein rose to eighth place in 1.26.416 and the medium compound, while Grosjean shot up to fifth position with the same compound, with a time of 1:24.098. Bottas is the most active with 20 laps already scored, followed by Verstappen, at 19. Massa's Williams moves into second position in 1.21.860 but shortly afterwards it is Verstappen on medium who snatches the place from the Brazilian. Fifth time for Sainz with the supersofts. Then Verstappen takes the reins of the group in 1:20.526 and mixes soft. By mid-morning Red Bull leads the group ahead of Bottas, Massa, Raikkonen, Sainz, Perez, Grosjean, Hulkenberg, Wehrlein and Alonso.

With the supersofts and a time of 1:21.213, Hulkenberg's Renault moved up to second place. Seventh is Alonso, with the softs. Then it's Massa who climbs to the top, with the best time of 1:20.244 on soft. But the Brazilian doesn't last long: it's Bottas' turn with the supersofts and the new time to beat, 1:19.310. One hour after the mid-day break: Bottas, Massa, Verstappen, Hulkenberg, Sainz, Grosjean, Raikkonen, Wehrlein, Alonso, and Perez.

With a time of 1:21.324, and after two hours of absence, Kimi's Ferrari moved up to fifth place, on soft tyre. Massa improved on the ultrasoft to 1:19.909 and subsequently to 1:19.420, but he remained second. Meanwhile, Bottas has completed 50 laps and Massa is preparing to do so too. Soft tire and fourth best time for Raikkonen, while Perez jumps from tenth to sixth place with the same compound. Another improvement for Ferrari, which thus rises to third in 1:20.406. Wehrlein enters the "50 lap club" while Sainz takes sixth place with the soft tire and a time of 1:21.872. Shortly afterwards, however, Perez overtook him, in 1:21.297 on supersoft tyre. The checkered flag puts an end to the games, leaving Mercedes in the lead ahead of Williams and Ferrari.
