F1 | Baku confirmed on the calendar until the 2023 season

In a press release issued this morning, Baku confirmed the extension of the current contract with Liberty Media until 2023, effectively confirming its commitment to Formula 1 until that date.

Azerbaijan, we remember, entered the calendar in 2016 and despite the skepticism of the fans, deriving above all from the layout of the track, the race has always provided a great spectacle, with breathtaking duels, twists and absolutely unexpected results. As for 2019, the race will take place on the weekend of April 28 and will be the fourth round of the world championship after those in Australia, China and Bahrain.

“We are very pleased to have renewed this agreement which will see the Azerbaijan Grand Prix retain its place in the world Formula 1 calendar for many years to come”, said Liberty Media and Formula 1 president Chase Carey. “This circuit has become one of the most popular of the season, as it has always produced hard-fought races full of twists and turns.”
