F1 | Aston Martin, Stroll scores two points at Spa

Lance stroll closes the first part of the season with a placing in the points. The Belgian weekend will not be one to remember, between the crash in qualifying and the eleventh position in the Sprint. ”It was nice to get a couple of points today, especially on a circuit where we didn't particularly shine during the weekend. We decided to extend the first stint with the mediums, because the radar signaled the arrival of rain. Drops arrived in some parts of the circuit, but there was no need for the intermediates, so we went back to the pits to put on the softs – declared Lance, explaining his strategy – it was a bit of a risk, if the rain had increased we could have avoided a tire change, but in hindsight the two-stop strategy was the best. In the final stages of the race I had to manage the soft, I had no grip to defend myself from Ocon.

“It was a particular start to the season and we know that there is work to do for the second part. Having said that, we've made a big step forward compared to last year and I know the team is motivated, we need to keep pushing."
