From there his comeback begins: he overtakes Albon, Or with, Hulkenberg; with a crossbar in the gravel he holds the car and also inserts it Mercedes di Hamilton , McLaren di Plates. The other Mercedes, that of Russell, is ten seconds away, but time is running out and Fernando is satisfied with seventh position and the additional point for the fastest lap in the race. Alonso: “I would have liked to be leader for at least one lap”

“We didn't have the pace today, it was a complicated race and everything happened. Apart from this, scoring points was fundamental and we also took home the additional point for the fastest lap. At the start I put myself in second position and for a moment I thought it would be nice to lead the race for at least one lap, but we didn't succeed – Alonso said – at the Safety Car we changed the strategy slightly, we no longer had hard tires available and that's why we mounted the soft. All in all it was a good race, but we still have to work to improve our long-distance speed and reach the same levels as in qualifying."
