A brand born from competition for competition

Alpine was founded in 1955 by Jean Redele, a young motorsport enthusiast who was inspired by his favorite habitat – the Alps – to give a name to his brand. The company began to take off from the launch of the first one A110 in 1962. At that time, Alpine and Renault they work closely together as they are the Renault dealers who sell and maintain the Alpines.

In the early 1970s, Alpine he is among the rallying elite; in 1971, he monopolized the podium of the famous Monte Carlo Rally, an exploit he repeated in 1973, the year in which he became the first manufacturer to win the World Rally Championship. Meanwhile, sales of Alpine as standard they take flight. It was then that the brand decided to build an ad hoc factory in Dieppe, which would come into operation in 1969, the same site that today produces the new A110. In 1971, the A310 entered the scene, two years before Alpine is acquired by Renault group.

Alpine achieved his greatest success in motorsport in 1978 by winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Dieppe subsequently continued to launch innovative new models throughout the 1970s and 1980s, particularly with theA310 V6 and the GTA, before production was suspended in 1995. In 2017, Alpine launch the new one A110, a model faithful to the timeless principles of the former A110 which met with immediate success among enthusiasts and won several international awards.
