F1 | Alfa Romeo, Vasseur on the choice of second driver: "Decision after Brazil"

The second Alfa Romeo seat continues to remain empty in view of 2022. In fact, the Biscione team, after announcing Valtteri Bottas with the Finn currently working for Mercedes who has signed a multi-year contract with Hinwil, is soon finally ready to make the driver official which will complete next season's line up.

In this regard, Vasseur, interviewed in Mexico City, admitted that the issue will be resolved after the Interlagos weekend scheduled for next weekend. The main candidates to compete for the role of Botta's teammate are Guanyu Zhou and Oscar Piastri, with Antonio Giovinazzi still continuing to hope for a confirmation which currently appears very difficult.

"We will make a decision in the next few days, probably after Brazil – declared Vasseur, quoted by Autosport – It's an important choice, not an easy one. We will make a decision as soon as possible and you will be informed as soon as the decision is made".
