F1 | Alfa Romeo Sauber, Vasseur: “Satisfied with our result”

Good weekend in Singapore for Alfa Romeo Sauber. After the less than exceptional performances in Monza, the Hinwil team redeemed itself with a race well conducted by Leclerc and Ericsson, both of whom started from the seventh row and reached the finish line in ninth and eleventh position respectively. So back in the points with the Monegasque, with Sauber now nine points behind Toro Rosso. The fight for eighth place in the constructors' standings is more open than ever. Force India is also within range at the moment, having 32 points against the 21 of the Swiss team, but it is only there due to the change of ownership before Spa, and without chafing between the drivers like those of yesterday it should have no difficulty in recovering the ranking.

“We are satisfied with our result – comments Frederic Vasseur, team principal of Alfa Romeo Sauber. After a difficult start on Friday we recovered well, qualifying in decent positions. Our strategy was good and both drivers put in a great and consistent performance in a challenging race. Charles finished ninth adding another two points to our rankings, while Marcus came within touching distance of the top ten. We need to stay focused and continue to improve, I can't wait for the Russian Grand Prix."
