F1 | Alfa Romeo, Raikkonen and Giovinazzi in chorus: “Good chances for Montreal”

Having archived a difficult Monegasque weekend, Alfa Romeo is called upon to make immediate redemption in the Canadian Grand Prix which will take place this weekend on the semi-permanent track in Montreal. The Biscione team believes that the characteristics of the track named in memory of Gilles Villenueve could favor the C38.

"The Montreal track should be suitable for us, but to be honest so far this season hasn't really gone to plan. I hope the tires work and then we should be able to exploit the full potential of the car. Ninth place in the Constructors' Championship is definitely not where we should be”, said Kimi Raikkonen.

"I can't wait to race in Montreal for the first time in my career. I've had a good two weeks to recharge my batteries, going to the Giro d'Italia and Mugello for the MotoGP, and I can't wait to get back in the cockpit. The circuit in Canada has provided many interesting races in the past and is a place with good overtaking opportunities, let's hope to have a good day on Sunday. The hope is that we can achieve the results we deserve”, underlined Antonio Giovinazzi.

"We look to Montreal with confidence. The track should be suited to our characteristics and allow for overtaking, which is something we have struggled with on previous tracks despite good race pace. After each weekend we understand our car and learn how to unlock the pace, but the key is to finish the race weekends without problems. The middle of the pack is so close, with just five points dividing fifth and ninth in the championship. Every mistake comes at a high price, but we know we can gain points in Canada and move up the table”, the thoughts of team principal Frederic Vasseur.
