Bottas: “We need to be smarter in our strategies”

The first part of the 2015 season was archived with Budapest in an excellent fourth place in the drivers' standings. Valtteri Bottas returns to talk about the Silverstone GP, which started well and ended not exactly so from the moment it started raining.

“I would have had the opportunity to pass Felipe at the start but I was denied permission from the wall – the Finn from the team explained to Autosport Williams – However, there is no point in crying over spilled milk. At that juncture they thought it was right so as not to lose from the Mercedes. Then unfortunately when I was given the green light it was too late because it had started to rain and my tires were suffering."

“On the positive side, we have learned the lesson, so from now on we will have to prove ourselves more intelligent in similar situations, especially if we still find ourselves fighting for a double like in England, which hasn't happened for some time” – he concluded.
