Sauber has no intention of selling its F1 team

After the sponsorship agreement with Carlos Slim's Telmex, team boss Peter Sauber denied the possibility of selling part of the team's shares to the new Mexican sponsor: “I have 100% of the shares and I have no intention of selling the team or part of it." He then added: "..with Telmex we want to send a clear message to other sponsors".

Telmex will have a significant presence on the livery of the Swiss single-seaters but at the moment nothing more is planned. Included in the operation will be Sergio Perez from GP2, a twenty-year-old Mexican who will join the Japanese Kamui Kobayashi starting from next season.

The sponsorship, at least according to the Swiss newspaper Blick, should be around 20 million Swiss francs (around 15 million euros). Carlos Slim Domit, son of the Mexican billionaire and president of Telmex, said: “For Telmex and our racing project it is a big step forward.”
