Red Bull not worried about the still missing agreement between Renault and Lotus
The white smoke is late, but Horner is calm even if he doesn't reveal the name of the supplier
Although Renault is close to acquiring Lotus, at the moment there are still no official announcements on the matter. An agreement that F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone defined as crucial to guarantee the Enstone team's continued existence in the Circus. Again according to Ecclestone, the lack of smoke between the transalpine company and Lotus could also have a repercussion on Red Bull.
Over the weekend in Abu Dhabi, Chris Horner declared that Red Bull, after a long soap opera, had reached an agreement for the supply of engines. Although no names have been mentioned, the Milton Keynes team is expected to be powered by Renault engines again.
“We have a contract for the supply of the engines – declared Horner -. We hope to reveal the details within a week. I know there has been a lot of activity in the last few days, but I'm not at liberty to say what it was."
“We are not yet able to announce what our engine is – continues Horner –, but the situation is clear: we have an agreement for next year. The unfortunate thing is that I would like to be able to tell you more, but unfortunately I can't."
On the 2016 car, the Red Bull team manager does not deny that there have been some slowdowns: “We designed four different variants of the chassis, but inevitably we accumulated some delays. Let's say we are evolving, but the whole team in Milton Keynes did a super job to try to get us back on par."
