Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner has contributed to fueling rumors about doubts about Renault's future in Formula 1. The Englishman admitted that he is currently looking for an alternative to supply engines as the contract with the French company is about to expire.
"We need to know if Renault will stay in Formula 1," Horner told Sport Bild. “We don't know for sure at the moment.”
Renault will lose the support of the Dutch bank ING at the end of the year, but Flavio Briatore reiterated that the situation for the French company is no worse than that of the other manufacturers in light of the global financial crisis: "I was with the president of Renault at Paris and confirmed to me that F1 is a priority for the group."
