Red Bull: “Raikkonen still a candidate for 2014”

Kimi Raikkonen remains in the running for a seat in Red Bull for the 2014 Formula 1 season. This was declared by the team boss of the Austrian team, Christian Horner.

While rumors, indiscretions and denials follow one another about the Finn's future, Horner denied what Raikkonen's manager said, who had defined his client as out of the race to be Sebastian Vettel's teammate: "There is nothing definite ” Horner said. “We said we would take the summer to think about it, but there is no decision on that yet. I wouldn't rule anything out at the moment. Until we have decided who to entrust the second seat to, there isn't much to say."

MORE THAN TWO CANDIDATES – Horner has hinted that there are more than two candidates, namely Kimi Raikkonen and Daniel Ricciardo. Fernando Alonso could also be part of the list, whose stay at Ferrari is not a given.

“You have to consider all the options and there are more options than you think,” he explained to Autosport. “Is Fernando in the running? You should ask him. I think he has a contract with Ferrari."

According to rumors in Hungary, Alonso's management has not only contacted Red Bull but also other top teams.
