Pastor Maldonado: “Valencia is a challenge”
"We are working intensely, we hope to do better than in Canada", echoes Senna
Pastor Maldonando get ready to the European Grand Prix on stage next weekend in Valencia. A challenge that fascinates him.
“Valencia is a challenge for drivers because it combines a city track that is used by normal cars throughout the year with the sections of track needed during a race, it's not simple – declares the Williams driver -. The layout is quite fast with some long straights, but there are also some slow corners. Finding the right balance will be essential to do well”.
“We are constantly developing the car and hopefully we can improve the last two races and collect good points”, he concludes.
His words are echoed by those of his teammate Bruno senna. “Street circuits are always difficult for a driver and Valencia is certainly no different: it requires the right speed combined with an efficient braking system to deal with areas of hard braking - explains -. Our pace in Canada didn't really reflect the car's potential, but we've worked hard to understand why and hopefully we can get a better result than in Canada.".
