Le Manor will race with the JB17 logo on their cars throughout the season

Manor in Monaco in memory of Jules Bianchi

The 2014 Monaco Grand Prix certainly proved to be one fundamental race for the future of Marussia. The Anglo-Russian team, for the first time in its life in Formula 1, managed to finish the race in the points thanks to the qualities shown by Jules Bianchi on a track narrow and tortuous which allows no margin for error. Then, one October afternoon, everything changed. There are many similarities between the recent past of the Manor and that of the 25-year-old from France. The Frenchman, who had allowed Marussia to obtain their first points in Formula 1, is confined to a hospital bed. He is facing a battle much more difficult of a Formula 1 Grand Prix, that of survival, the same challenge that his team also had to face at the end of last season.

“Without a doubt it will be a moment of Big emotion for the whole team, it will be difficult because Jules is always in our thoughts – commented the sporting director, Graeme Lowdon, to his Autosport colleagues – Last year was a memorable weekend, especially if we take into account what we collected at the end . Was a great result for our team but all sports have heroes and in our sport the heroes are the drivers, and Jules really had a great race that day."

The latest news on Jules Bianchi, involved in a terrible accident in the final stages of the Japanese GP, means that the Frenchman will be able to breathe independently even if he would find himself still in a coma: “We will carry JB17 on our machines all year long. Scoring the points was a fantastic feeling for everyone in the team, it was a team effort but, a year later, we still have to thank Jules for that result. He was a real driver,” she concluded.
