Ken Block is too big for an F1 car

The intentions of Ken Block to test an F1 in Monza in August they encountered an initial difficulty, after it was discovered that he is too tall to fit into the car.

The rally driver, famous for his Gymkhana videos, had planned to test one Toyota on the last day of the Pirelli tests at the circuit hosting the Italian Grand Prix.

The American went to the Toyota Motorsport headquarters in Cologne on Thursday for some preparations and a ride on the simulator, but the plans faced obstacles early on.

Autosport revealed that Block's legs are too long for the car, and no matter how much he sits in the cockpit, he can't move the steering wheel.

It is unlikely that further changes will be made to the 2009 car, which is why Toyota staff are looking for alternatives - including older cars - that may be suitable for the driver.

Block had expressed all his enthusiasm for an F1 test at the Canadian Grand Prix:

“I never imagined something like this was possible,” he declared.

“Pirelli had the idea of doing something unique and different with me. He's always been a great partner to me, for everything I've done, so for me it's a dream come true.”
