Bianchi family: “Jules fought until the end”

“It is with deep sorrow that Jules Bianchi's parents, Philippe and Christine, his brother Tom, and his sister Mélanie, wish to communicate that Jules died last night at the University Hospital Center of Nice, where he was hospitalized following the accident in 5 October 2014 in Suzuka during the Japanese Formula 1 GP."

“Jules fought to the end, as he always has, but today his battle has come to an end. The pain we feel is immense and indescribable. We want to thank the medical staff at the CHU in Nice who treated him with love and dedication. We also want to thank the staff at the General Medical Center in Mie Prefecture, who cared for Jules immediately after the accident, as well as all the other doctors who cared for him in recent months."

“Furthermore, we thank Jules' colleagues, friends, fans and all those who have shown their affection for him over the last few months; this gave us great strength and helped us face these difficult moments. Hearing and reading the many messages made us realize how much Jules had touched the hearts and minds of so many people around the world."

“We would like to ask that our privacy be respected at this difficult time as we try to come to terms with the loss of Jules.”

This is what the press release released by the Bianchi family reports.
