Italian GP – Gregorio Paltrinieri guest of Scuderia Ferrari in Monza

F1 – On Saturday in Monza there was a special guest in the garage Scuderia Ferrari: it was Gregorio Paltrinieri, fresh European swimming champion in the 800 and 1500 meters in the event that took place last August in Berlin. For the Scuderia it is normal to have great sporting champions in its garage, in Gregorio's case, however, there is something more. Paltrinieri is in fact a Modena DOC because he was born in Carpi on 5 September 20 years ago.

“For me it was the first time in the pits at a Formula 1 Grand Prix and the pit could only be that of Ferrari. I am from Modena and the passion for this house runs through my veins as in those of all Emilians. Despite my sporting commitments, I always follow Formula 1 races, even if it means having to see them recorded. I've had the passion since I was a child and I still carry it forward."

Gregorio was struck by the activity that takes place in the pits: “From the outside it seems easy to see a car running on the track, but behind it there is an incredible amount of work. An hour before qualifying the cars were still dismantled, then the mechanics, like an orchestra, assembled everything with incredible speed and precision."
The champion, as a sportsman, focused a lot on the behavior of the drivers: “I carefully observed Alonso and Raikkonen especially on how they managed to concentrate in the frenzy of those moments. Even in swimming, especially in long races like mine, freeing your mind and thinking only about what you have to do is essential. I found both of them incredibly cold and prepared, true champions."
